      Random gym injuries

Was talking to some guy I work with who's also got a love for lifting and he's suffered a random injurie which has left him unable to train. He dropped a 20kg plate on his thumb and left it knackered.

The worse I've nearly done is go arse over head on the tread mill looking at some bird's tight arse....I 'nearly' fell but i have seen some guy go totally off and come back up crimson coloured! lol

I've seen a few go off the Treads, one was my training buddy who tried to take his sweat top off while jogging! He hit the deck and was propelled into the rowers behind. I nearly fell off laughing.
Worst I've done is pulled a muscle in my back when I didn't warm up properly.

i guess i can include the club since it is also the gym.
ive broke a rib, cracked toes, broke nose, busted lips, blacked eyes, broke thumb and a finger.
thankfully i havent injured my neck and back yet and have seen gym members take time off for injuring both of these.

I trapped a finger in between two dumbells a few days ago that hurt a lot.

Farting when leg pressing seems to be occurring weekly for me.

Not really an injury but a few years ago when I was doing high rep squats at a new gym. I suddenly felt i was going to be sick so started walking to the toilet unfortunately I did'dt quite make it I dived into what I thought was the changing room and was exorcist sick all over a squash court.

I then sheepishly went to the reception and asked for a mop "what for she said" so i explained and apologized. She just looked at me disgust....It was the sort of gym where people carry about there own towels and dont actually break a sweet.

    I chose not to return.

I had a buddy back in high school who was doing squats(275lbs) and got stuck and took his hand off the barbell and set it on one of the bottom racking bars, at the same time the barbell slid off his back and landed on his ring finger, and it blew out the tip from all the pressure. Pretty nasty.

In early days of training wasn't using correct form on squat machine and felt my lower back rip, regretted it ever since. If i could give one piece of advice it would be to look after your back.

Good advice......years ago I twisted my SI joint ( the joint that joins the bottom of the spine to the pelvis ) while squatting then as I fell backwards I managed to put a stress fracture in my pelvis as my ass hit the floor still with the bar across my shoulder.

cue 3 days lying on my back on the floor full of Valium for the fracture to fuse...... then a lot of physio ....took months to actually get the confidence to get squatting again
