      Snow

      got about a foot and a half of snow last night
      did I mention that i hate the cold and yet for some reason live in the northern US not the southern US

      If we got as much snow as that in the uk it would make the news for a month and bring the country to a halt!

      The news called it a blizzard online called it snowpocolypse 2011 and both were warning of doom and gloom all week.
      some sites said it was going to be a disaster the size of Katrina (New Orleans floods)
      yesterday the grocery stores were all packed with long lines of people preparing for disaster
      they closed everything from schools to churches to nonessential businesses
      I got up shoveled my walk got in my truck drove thru my un-plowed driveway and drove to work, no problems at all

      people are becoming sissies

      We got got a fair bit back in December. It was almost three feet deep in my back garden, all bus's where cancelled, no delivery to the supermarket for nearly a week, I didn't get into work for 3 days, the nursery was shut and could'nt get the car out the street.

      And when I did eventually get the car out I stupidly thought i would take it for a run down the bypass only to do a full 360 spin, hit the central reservation and finish in the barrier backwards....rear wheel drive cars and icy roads do not mix !
